Sunday Stash

Here is my Sunday Stash

A fabulous collection of purple batik’s, soon to be a quilt for the spoiled rotten daughter. This is my stinker’s  favorite color and the batik’s bring out the little hippie in her.

It’s hard to pick up the true color in these deep and rich purple’s and blue’s in a photo. Trust me, they are amazing!

Have a Fabulous Sunday,

Diane

Sunday Stash

Today while  I continue to procrastinate in finishing cleaning the sewing room, I found this lovely blog,  1/4 of an inch. She started a Sunday Stash for all of us, Stash hores Queens. So instead of winding up 100 or so spools of thread I decided to take pictures of a future quilt I will be making for myself.

I have wanted an all Orange quilt for a very long time, and have slowly been collecting these fat quarters for this very project. I probably won’t start it for a few months, but for all you orange lovers, are you not drooling?

Lovely Things From Mr Postman…..

He has a full time job, is responsible, and he bares gift’s 6 day’s a week. Plus he has great legs.

My new love……
                                                     Mr. Postman

Now, my Mr. Postman brings me great gift’s most day’s. From Swaps, Giveaway’s, and Etsy, I think I am the reason why he works full time. SometimesI do feel sorry for him with the heavy boxes of cat food. Then I think, I am probably saving him hundreds of dollar’s on a Gym membership.

Today it was a Royal Delivery…..

And Royal it was……

Katy sent me a fabulous selection of fabric. I met Katy in a swap. Then joined her in the Great International Stash Swap which was held on February 4th. She sent me fabric’s I’ve never felt before, and fabric’s that I need to find more of…

The two fabric’s on the bottom are Liberty fabric’s. Oh my goodness, I wish you could feel them. I do need to find more……. Oh the possibility’s!!!!!!!!

I can’t thank Katy enough for introducing me to such fabulous cotton. Hey, I usually sew with silk and this rate’s right up there. She also sent me my first Japanese and Dutch fabric. WooHoo!

Have a Fabulous Weekend.

Machine Monday!!! #2

Hello All!
Well it’s Monday and you know what that means, it’s  Machine Monday. Today is the day I show you what’s run across my machine in the past week.

I continue to work on the spoiled rotten daughters dress. I made the body- suit and a pair of “unmentionables” for the foundation of the dress. Why do they call them “unmentionables?”  Everyone wears them. Sure we all have had a time in our life, usually in our 20’s, where we go commando. Then we realize underwear is a good thing and it’s worn for a purpose. Just a thought.

I bought her boob’s, yes my daughter is not that blessed. I bet you know a 8 year old boy that has far more than her. For those of you who can’t believe I just threw  that out there, well hell, she is getting this dress for free. I have my favorite boob’s that a I buy here I only wish I could find them cheaper.

They have a nice shape and they are firm so they don’t deflate, I guess you would say. (because when there’s nothing in there holding those empty puppies  up, that can be a problem) So, if anyone reading this has a cheaper source I would love to hear about it.

Anyway, let us get back to the dress. The bodice was also dyed on that 7.5 hour dying day I had last week. I used a basic bathing suit pattern from Kwik-Sew for my bodice, but when the dress is finished it will not resemble that pattern one bit. One of the beauty’s of sewing with stretch is you can cut it as you go.

My question to myself is, do I leave the boobs the way they are, or do I cover them in the same shade of blue. Now, you do need to know that most of them won’t be showing. Remember, all that lace I dyed, well it will be cut up and placed all over the bodice then a boat load of rhinestones will also adorn the bodice. So if any of the cup shows at all it will be a very small amount. (but probably more than the amount of boob’s my daughter has)

I’m still unsure of the neck line. The choices are a boat neck and maybe some sort of sweet-heart neckline. I lean toward the boat neck, with lots of added embellishments.

The back of the dress will be almost non-existent. It will also have a low waist line that is asymmetrical. The Spoiled Daughter does like her waist line low, which is very flattering to  her.

On this dress she wants a slit in the skirt clear up to her unmentionables, she is getting a little daring. Will see if she gets what she wants on that one.

So hopefully by next week I will have the skirt cut out and maybe, just maybe, sewn up. If not I will be working on stuff for my new Etsy Store which will be opening soon.

So now the question is……….. what’s been across you Machine this week.

Have a Fabulous Day,

Diane
